Green Building


As an eager participant in the global trend towards environmentally-responsible construction (as well as all things green), the Opera Lofts has taken signifigant actions to utilize green-concious building materials and techniques whenever feasible.  Perhaps the “greenest” attribute of the project is the adaptive re-use of the entire opera warehouse structure. Every original part of the entire building was preserved to the greatest extent possible. Every brick from a demolished masonry wall was recovered by hand, and these bricks were used to construct new walls and other structures as needed.  Additionally, the following green building features are incorporated throughout the project:

Green Roof - Opera Lofts

  • Over 7,000 square feet of rooftop Green Roof
  • Insulated, Low-E Pella Impervia® Fiberglass Windows and Sliding Doors (Utilizing Atleast 21% Post-Consumer Content)
  • Dual-Flush Toilets
  • High-Efficiency HVAC Units
  • Drywall Utilizing Recycled Fly-Ash
  • GE® Stainless Appliances:
    • 25 cu. Ft. Side-By-Side Energy Star® Refrigerator with icemaker and water dispenser
