LOACQ, LLC

LOACQ, LLC (short for Lyric Opera Acquisitions) is a collaboration of two companies whose owners are (from left to right) Leigh Ballen, Andres Schcolnik and Adolfo Castellanos.  At the suggestion of their lender for the project, ShoreBank, they came together to acquire the old Lyric Opera Warehouse.  The project brings together their many years of rehabilitating old buildings on Chicago's South Side.  Another project of Mr. Schcolnik's is the magnificent Grand Ballroom, which was restored to it's original grandeur.  Mr. Castellanos is a general contractor, Mr. Ballen an attorney, and Mr. Schcolnik is an architect.

The great attention to detail implicit in the adaptive re-use of such a grand structure as the Opera Lofts has involved hundreds of people - including laborers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons, roofers, architects, engineers and various other specialties. We are quite proud of the unique living spaces that have been created by their work.
